It's been a while!

Okay, so I said earlier that I'd be re-reading "Reshaping It all" and blogging about it. Well, guess what... I haven't been doing so! :( Boooo! I read that book recently, so re-reading wasn't as fun as I thought it would be! As far as my "healthier" life style, it hasn't changed much since my last blog! Bad Pam! I am having too much fun eating deliciously bad food! I try to limit and do so in moderation, so that's a plus right?

ZUMBA:
On to more interesting things: I got purple zumba pants! One of my zumba friends (whose an instructor) was nice enough to sell me one of her used ones so I didn't have to pay the big bucks for new ones! I am totally hooked on zumba though, so I will have to invest more of my mula into the zumbawear :)

TRAINING:
14 more weeks until my first half marathon race!!! I still have plenty of time, but I've really got to kick it up a notch. This weekend, my goal is to finally run 8 miles. I am not terribly nervous, but I just need to find a good time to do it because it will definitly take me a while ;)

As far as swimming goes, I timed myself for the first time in about a month, and swam my 600 yards in 10 min and 20 sec. I was pretty stoked. And Pretty TIRED!!! I was at a near sprint the entire time. 24 lengths is a long time to be sprinting too...

I haven't started biking yet :( But my wonderful sister in law has lent me one of her awesome bikes (she is an avid biker) so now I have no excuse for not training!

FAMILY:
My youngest boy has turned 2!!! He is so precious in every way. Lately he's been carrying around the "Cars" movie case around with him everywhere he goes (even to bed!). I had to record that precious memory somewhere. I never want to forget!
My oldest is finally signed up for pre-school! He is slowly getting excited about that idea. He is continuing to excel in Taekwondo, and also, just 10 lessons away from being done with our reading program. My boy is a reader :) He also finished the entire "Green Eggs and Ham" book. All by himself!
My boys are getting big! Sniff!
My hubby is working and working away!!! We can't wait for the weekend, because then he will get to be home with us :) We plan on doing a lot more gardening this weekend. And by we, I mean, Jason. haha. He does the hard stuff, and I get to pick the flowers and plant them. What a sweet hubby!

It's getting warmer out there! Let's go for a walk :)

Home Schooling is Hard!

And I'm not even in it full time! YIKES!!! Everyday, Jake's reading program becomes even more torturous! It's probably my least favorite time of the day (and his!). We are nearly done with the program, so that's why I am sticking it out. Otherwise, I'd cough up the big bucks for "Sing, Spell, Read and Write." We still may have to reach deep down into our pockets to purchase the higher up program, so we can continue after our current program is over. I don't want Jake to slip back. For a 4 year old, he is doing very, very well. I need to look at the positives.

But oh, does this program makes me crazy! It is slow, and not kid friendly in any way shape or form. I am very suprised we lasted this long. I thought we'd make it to lesson 10 and be done! Now we are on lesson 80... whew. I just need to keep chugging along. I think I can. I think I can.

Since I can barely handle 1 hour of homeschooling, I am thinking heavily about enrolling Jake into pre-school. I don't think I am patient enough to teach at home. I guess I have a lot of praying to do!

On another note, who else is doing the Reshaping it all challenge? I have been doing OKAY this week! More updates to come!

Reshaping It All

If you haven't read Candace Cameron Bure's book "Reshaping It All," I suggest you do so. I read it a few months ago, and was inspired to start living a healthier lifestyle. It wasn't just for the weight loss aspect, but for over all health and happiness for myself as well as my family. Since reading the book, I have lost about 6lbs, which isn't a TON, but it is SOMETHING :) Every little bit helps right? I still have about 10 lbs til I reach my goal/lifetime weight. I want to take it slow because I know that this is a lifestyle change, and not a race. I have to remember that once I reach my goal, I have to maintain my goal... which can be harder because there is no longer a "goal number" to reach!

My commitment for the next few weeks is to re-read Candace's book and blog about my journey to healthful living, physically and spiritually! I have definitly fallen off the wagon and have been maintaining at best. My goal here is:
1) to lose the last 10 lbs
2) read my Bible more
3) cook healthier meals and make healthy snacks readily available for my hubby and two precious boys.

I know there will be set backs, I know there will be failure here and there. But remember, this is a journey! I need to remember to take it one day at a time and make one choice at a time. Crash diets are so inticing sometimes, but there are no lessons learned in a crash diet. No life style changes. That can't be the route I take.

Check out Reshaping It All online or order the book from Amazon! I did, and have not regreted it! I will start re-reading the book tonight and get to blogging. There is a lot of wondrful insight and knowledge to be gained! :) Let's get started!
